Metalized Backing without the Weight 3M™ Metalized Film Tape 8437 is comprised of a 1 mil polyester backing with a metalized coating on both sides of the film to provide a mirror-like finish with low emissivity. It is coated with a versatile, long lasting acrylic adhesive. This backing provides some of the advantages of a metal tape without the associated weight. A mirror-like finish gives the tape high visibility and maintains its bright appearance for up to 3 months. The tape is mounted on a polyester backing that provides long-term aging, high tear resistance, good Temperature resistance and high strength. The liner allows for large applications and die-cutting of custom shapes, as well as providing additional stiffness for application in narrow gaps. Recommended Applications
3M™ Metalized Film Tape 8437 is coated with a transparent acrylic adhesive. This pressure sensitive adhesive grabs on contact, holds securely and features excellent aging properties for a long lasting bond to a variety of materials including metals. This tape can withstand a broad spectrum of Temperatures ranging from -60ºF/-50ºC to 300ºF/150ºC. |
